Tees ‘N Things is known for one of the richest superhero t-shirt collections on the web. We decided to dedicate our next few posts to our superhero t-shirts section. We will be posting the staff favorites along with some of the most popular items.
We are starting with the Superheros of the DC Comics. DC Comics has been around since 1938. They are the grand daddy of all since the first appearance of SUPERMAN, the Man of Steel in 1938, and the BATMAN, the Dark Knight Detective in the following year. This extraordinary world of modern mythology also includes superheros such as WONDER WOMAN, GREEN LANTERN, THE FLASH, AQUAMAN and the rest of THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA. Our DC Comics T-shirts section of the store has something for the fan of each of these DC Comics superheroes:
Fathers are usually taken as granted compared to mothers. The bond between a mother and a child is always unmistakable. So, what a father does is often goes unnoticed, well except for earning money for the family. But usually he is the one who keeps yelling with encouragement at the football or the soccer game, or watching you with pride at your piano recital, or walking you across the street while looking at everything else suspiciously just like it is the next danger around the corner. In deep inside, every father is a superhero in my opinion. He is ready to jump into a fight with the next beast to protect the family. So why not surprise him with a small gift that shows your appreciation. We have bunch of father themed shirts in the Family shirts section of our store. Stop by and pick up yours before it is late. Here are a few to give an idea.
Any time is time for a good laugh. As they say, laughter is the best medicine. And it’s a lot more enjoyable than swallowing pills. Since you’re reading this, I’m going to get brave here and say that you probably are looking for something to laugh at, or to make someone else laugh. Hey, it’s just part of human nature to want to feel good. Gotta deal with the real world however we can, and a humorous t-shirt might just help you, or those who read it when you wear it, to cope.
Speaking of humor, who knows who invented the first joke? Maybe one caveman bopped another over the head with a club and thought it was funny, so he did it again. Could be that was how physical comedy got started. Although, I doubt if the guy getting hit with the club thought it was funny. Or if he had a hard enough head, maybe he did.
At any rate, people love to laugh. Or at least chuckle. It seems that everyone you meet has a joke for you. Some even invent them on the spot. How about the class (or office) clown? Now there’s a guy everyone would want at the party.
Even a bad joke can make you laugh, right? And we’ve all heard plenty of those, haven’t we? Or what about those weird things we say now and then that just happen without being planned? Haven’t you ever gotten tongue tied and then started laughing along with whoever you were talking to, so caught up in the silliness that you didn’t care if you were laughing at yourself? That’s what humor can do to you.
If you’ll take a look at our humorous tees page, you’ll see that we’ve got a lot of humor to spare. So what’s your preference? Cute stuff? Silly stuff? There are a lot of things people laugh at, all right. Odds are, the shirts we have will at least get you grinning. And who knows? Maybe it’s a laugh a day that keeps the doctor away. So laugh on, and laugh hearty. It’s good for you.
Only Thor would attempt the latest test of heroic strength that destiny has set up for the son of Odin. And even he will have his immortal hands full trying to defeat the evil Dark Elves and their wicked plot to plunge the universe into eternal night, especially since Thor’s own father and all of Asgard can’t defeat them. All Nine Realms are in danger of being destroyed if Thor can’t counter the universe’s most aggressive antagonist. Even Thor himself might have to make a tremendous sacrifice before the battle is over.
In a continuation of The Avengers, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is called upon to stop Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston), who rules the Dark Elves of a world called Svartalfaheim, from carrying out his horrible plans. And waiting in the wings to serve up additional wicked mischief aimed at foiling our hero is Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor’s own adopted brother. All that bad news together would make one grand action adventure movie without any additional plot.
But more plot there is, and it only makes the watching better. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is there, providing a love interest for an already stressed Thor. And since a triangle is always more fun than a simple boy-girl relationship, there’s Sif (Jaime Alexander), a deity who grew up with Thor and would like to have him all to herself.
If Thor had to handle everything by himself, he would be one worn out god. Fortunately, he has the Warriors Three on his side to provide Malekith and Loki with more than one target for their monstrous shenanigans. The three are: Fandral (Zachary Levi); Volstagg (Ray Stevenson); and Hogun (Tadanobu Asano), each one a god of Asgard, so they’re quite capable of giving Thor an assist where he needs it.
Of notable mention, Stan Lee, who helped create Thor for Marvel Comics, has a small part in the movie. And playing Odin, king of Asgard, is Anthony Hopkins, who always has a regal appearance no matter who he plays.
Marvel Studios produced the movie, and it will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. So you know this film will be great from beginning to end.
And we’ve got the tees that’ll give you plenty of Thor moments on their own. So come on and take a look; you’re bound to get your own place in Asgard when you wear one.
Has there ever been a hero like the Wolverine? A man with the mind of a human and senses of an animal, a human who can heal at superhuman speed and is virtually immortal? And a man who, due to those very life-lengthening attributes, feels such great pain at the loss of those he loves that it digs into the depths of his very soul?
Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will take on the bad guys with a vengeance to protect those he cares about, and must do so in this movie. His enemies are strong, too, however, and he’s in for a fight that will show he does have a vulnerable side. There are both physical and emotional limits to be tested, and his foes are more than willing to step up to take him on.
In what seems a complicated plot, Logan is hired to protect Yukio (Rita Fukushima) due to a possible gangland war. Yukio is an assassin who works for Shingen Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi), who isn’t exactly a pal to Wolverine. Then there’s Mariko Yashida (Tao Okamoto), Shingen’s daugher, who’s trying to decide between her love for our hero and her dad. Yukio also develops an attachment for Logan, so we’re looking at a very interesting triangle. Added to that, there’s Noburo Mori (Brian Tee), a minister of justice who’s about as corrupt as they come, who’s Mariko’s fiance. And into the mix comes Viper (Svetlanda Khodchenkova), a very bad gal who not only wants to hunt down Wolverine but also can’t be harmed by toxins.
There’s one more interesting character to consider. It’s Jean Gray (Famke Janssen), who died in X-Men: The Last Stand. She’s there to help Logan deal with his issues, and does he ever have some issues. Intriguing, huh?
The movie takes place mainly in Japan, where most of it was filmed by Jackman’s company, Seed Productions. And if that action makes you want to show the world your admiration for Wolverine, take a look at our tees about the movie. They’re sure to make you want to wear them day and night. Just not in a dark alley…
The crew of the USS Starship Enterprise is again put to the test in the latest Star Trek movie when bad guy John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) shows what a really rough character he is by devastating Starfleet and leaving Earth virtually defenseless against his attacks.
Fortunately, the Enterprise is there to answer Earth’s distress call. Under the courageous leadership of Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), the crew rallies in the face of extreme danger. And since the crew consists of such notable Star Trek members as Dr. Spock (Zachery Quinto), Dr. “Bones” McCoy (Karl Urban), Lt. Sulu (John Cho), Lt. Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Ensign Chekov (Anton Yelchin), and Lt. Commander “Scotty” Scott (Simon Pegg), there is definitely enough brain power available to get some interesting retaliation going.
But the evil-doer seems bent on doing more than just destroying the Enterprise and its crew. A villain who is apparently unstoppable, he unleashes a seeming enraged vendetta against Captain Kirk himself, which only adds to the depth of this sci-fi thriller. Because when it gets personal, the action goes up quite a few hot and heavy notches.
If you remember the old Star Trek series, when William Shatner played Captain Kirk, and Leonard Nimoy played Dr. Spock, then you’re sure to be agog at the action in this movie. Special effects have come a long way, baby, and Paramount Pictures made good use of them in this flick.
And if you love the special effects in the movie, just check out the Star Trek Into Darkness tees we’ve got on our site. Each one will remind you of the thrills, the action, and the struggle to defeat an enemy such as the Enterprise crew has never before encountered. Certainly one of them will be something you want to buy and wear, or to give as a gift to someone who’s a real Trekkie.
So raise your eyes heavenward and say a silent, “Beam me up, Scotty,” in fond remembrance of a tremendously cool movie. Just try to limit your space travel should Scotty hear you and give you a beam up. Those guys don’t give frequent flyer rewards.
Who hasn’t heard of Superman? Who isn’t familiar with his history? Well, settle back, fans, because you’ve never heard it told this way before.
The new Warner Brothers Man of Steel movie takes a darker, more edgy approach to the Clark Kent/Superman/Kal-el story. You won’t find Jimmy Olsen in this flick for any comic relief. No, the comic book version that your grandparents recall, and even the TV series starring George Reeves, has been updated and given teeth.
The basics are still there, though. Superman (Henry Cavill) is found by Martha and Jonathan Kent (Diane Lane and Kevin Costner) and they become his parents. No dysfunctional family life here; their son Clark is raised with love and taught to respect others and their rights.
After Clark’s grown and is working at the Daily Planet with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and Perry White (Laurence Fishburne), enter a menace to every man, woman and child on Earth, General Zod (Michael Shannon), also a survivor of the planet Krypton’s explosion. Along with him to wreak havoc on Earth is Faora (Antje Traue), another survivor. Zod is as evil as Superman is good, and as endowed with the same super powers, so for Superman the ensuing battle won’t be a simple matter of looking through walls to find the bank robbers or flying through the air to catch fleeing kidnappers.
Upon its release, the movie will be shown in the conventional mode as well as in 3D and at IMAX theaters, so you’ll have to figure out which way you want to see it — or see it in all three versions and impress your friends.
And if all that action gets you really revved up, you might decide you need a t-shirt that expresses your “way to go, Superman!” attitude. If so, we’ve probably got just the shirt you’re looking for. So take a look (and you won’t have to have x-ray vision for it, either), and pick out something from our Man of Steel collection.
Or if you haven’t seen the movie yet, or you just love Superman, grab yourself a shirt and feel the power. Kryptonite-free, of course.
