Any time is time for a good laugh. As they say, laughter is the best medicine. And it’s a lot more enjoyable than swallowing pills. Since you’re reading this, I’m going to get brave here and say that you probably are looking for something to laugh at, or to make someone else laugh. Hey, it’s just part of human nature to want to feel good. Gotta deal with the real world however we can, and a humorous t-shirt might just help you, or those who read it when you wear it, to cope.
Speaking of humor, who knows who invented the first joke? Maybe one caveman bopped another over the head with a club and thought it was funny, so he did it again. Could be that was how physical comedy got started. Although, I doubt if the guy getting hit with the club thought it was funny. Or if he had a hard enough head, maybe he did.
At any rate, people love to laugh. Or at least chuckle. It seems that everyone you meet has a joke for you. Some even invent them on the spot. How about the class (or office) clown? Now there’s a guy everyone would want at the party.
Even a bad joke can make you laugh, right? And we’ve all heard plenty of those, haven’t we? Or what about those weird things we say now and then that just happen without being planned? Haven’t you ever gotten tongue tied and then started laughing along with whoever you were talking to, so caught up in the silliness that you didn’t care if you were laughing at yourself? That’s what humor can do to you.
If you’ll take a look at our humorous tees page, you’ll see that we’ve got a lot of humor to spare. So what’s your preference? Cute stuff? Silly stuff? There are a lot of things people laugh at, all right. Odds are, the shirts we have will at least get you grinning. And who knows? Maybe it’s a laugh a day that keeps the doctor away. So laugh on, and laugh hearty. It’s good for you.
Have you ever wondered how all these things are related to each other? As we loaded up our St Patrick Day T-Shirts, I did a little research, and here it goes: St Patrick had an interesting early life. He was born as British-Roman and was kidnapped by Irish at age sixteen. After escaping he became a priest and went back to Ireland to advance Christianity to Irish, who were polytheist back then. Now the tricky part, he used a Shamrock to explain the Trinity concept. I do not think he related beer and shamrock in his teachings, but fortunately for beer lovers, a shamrock represents the Irish taste today for dark or light beer, warm-blooded Irish women, and a jolly good time at the nearest pub. Green is known to first have shown in the uniforms of the soldiers in the 1798 rebellion on March 17th. Since then this day is known and celebrated by the Irish as the St. Patrick day. It is a national Holiday in Ireland and that starts explaining the beer. Now, how about that Leprechaun? Well, I learned that these fairy tale characters were already in Irish folk tales but the combination of Leprechaun and beer provide a nice opportunity to explain what happens when you take in more beer than enough! At teesnthings.com, we love the St. Patrick day, Irish, and Beer themed t-shirts. if you are getting ready to hit the nearest pub with your best Irish or Irish-loving friends, we have the t-shirts for you. Here are a few new irish t-shirts at the store:
The concept of the zombie was first introduced in the 1929 book, The Magic Island. In 1932, the movie White Zombie used the same voodoo zombie themes and became known as the first legitimate zombie film. Other movies based on zombie-themed books include I Walked With a Zombie and The Serpent and the Rainbow.
A more modern zombie concept, different from the one inspired by the Haitian religion unlike the first, emerged in popular culture in recent decades primarily inspired by the book, I am Legend. The movie The Night of the Living Dead is the first of its kind featuring this new kind of zombie and it lends a highly popular theme to our horror movie t-shirts. The monsters in the film and its sequels, such as Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead and Zombi 2, are usually hungry for human flesh although Return of the Living Dead introduced the popular concept of zombies eating brains. There is usally no explanation to what makes these dead bodies reanimate. They usually come out looking for human flesh or brains. Although this modern version resemble the original concept based on the Haitian tradition, many consider George Romero to be the progenitor of the concept. Zombie fiction is now a a cornerstone of the horror genre.
There are many t-shirts from zombie-themed movies at our site teesnthings.com. We also recently loaded up on new halloween designs. Here is our most popular:
2012 Elections are just around the corner. It will be an interesting battle between Mitt Romney and the President Obama. Whatever your political affiliation is, one way to show your support and mess up with the other party is to put on one of these politically correct t-shirts from teesnthings.com:
2012 London Olympics are over and count down started for Rio 2016 today. Last three weeks have been great. Thanks to NBC that is on public air, I never watched so much beach volleyball in my entire life. By the gold medal game, I could tell a team playing very well and organized from the others. What I learned is that this is not just a fun game played by women in bikinis but a game of strategy, talent, and hard work. Water polo was equally interesting. I never knew there was so much pulling, pushing, and poking in any game. I though ice hockey was hard but I now think water polo beats it in the strength that you need to have. There are games that I still don’t get like synchronized swimming and artistic gymnastics. I guess you really have to watch them enough to learn what makes one better over the others – for now they all look equally good or bad to me. After all those sports days, I am struggling to go back to watching summer golf but I must say I am grateful to the large variety of sports themed t-shirts at teesnthings.com to remind me the fun we had over the last three weeks. Here are a few that made me smile:
I was at an art festival recently where there were men, women, and children of all ages. Many of those people wore a t-shirt, reminding me that it really is the most popular garment style. What was more interesting is that many of the shirts – regardless worn by men, women, children – had some sort of funny novelty design. We have many such designs at teesnthings.com. Here are a few to check out:
