Just when Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) thought he could enjoy some down time with his gal pal Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) following his exploits in The Avengers, everything in his personal life is put at the mercy of the merciless Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). And thus the latest tale of Iron Man begins.
Walt Disney Studios brings us the latest installment of our hero, pitting Iron Man against Mandarin in a test of wills that stretches Stark’s resolve and instinctive action to the breaking point. With so much hanging in the balance, he must not only match wits with Mandarin, but he has to be resourceful enough to defeat the villain. Because this time, if he slips up, he could lost much more than he could ever recoup: he could lose Pepper.
As in the previous two Iron Man movies, the action is hot and hard-hitting. Who could expect anything less from such a hero? And there is also depth to the character that doesn’t leave you wondering if he is only a cardboard figure who just stepped out of the funny pages. No, Stark has qualms about his abilities, wondering if he’s the one behind his previous successes, or if it’s that iron armor he wears, showing us that even a guy who can take out the bad guys without getting himself taken down can have self-esteem issues.
Most of the film was shot in North Carolina, with some being done in Los Angeles, Florida, and China. Jon Favreau and Don Cheadle are back again as Happy Hogan and James Rhodes, and there are several newcomers to the cast, namely Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, and James Badge Dale. Wow, what a lineup, huh?
And get this, gang: the movie’s in 3D. That’s over two hours (129 minutes, if you want to get technical) of up close and personal action the way only Iron Man can deliver it. Not too shabby, huh? So if you want to do it up right, get yourself an Iron Man shirt and get in line for the movie. Just save some popcorn for me.
It certainly is promising to be a Superhero year at the movie theater. Big ones coming out in a fast and furious pace:
1. Iron Man 3
Tony Stark as portrayed so well by Robert Downey Jr as the self-proclaimed “genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist,” is back in theaters in Iron Man 3 on May 3. This time he is getting beat up by supervillain the Mandarin, brought to the big screen for the first time by Ben Kingsley. He likes his jokes but this time is in risk of losing everything — perhaps including his girlfriend and levelheaded counterpart Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).
2. Man of Steel
Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel is set go off on June 14. I have been reading mixed opinions on this movie. It appears that Zack Snyder is covering his story with a soft and human-like lens. Henry Cavill’s suit seems like higher tech than the expensive spandex version in earlier superman movies.
3. The Wolverine
Hugh Jackman returns as the mutant with the adamantium claws in “X-Men” movie set in Japan. Directed by James Mangod, who has movies like “Girl, Interrupted” and the underrated Western “3:10 to Yuma.” This is a first superhero movie by the acclaimed director and i will wait to see it before we count it in all-timers. The trailer gives the indication of a action filled film though. Bring it on!
4. Thor – The Dark World
The hammer-wielding God of Thunder is back in “Thor: The Dark World.” The movie pits the short-tempered Asgardian prince against an ancient race of Dark Elves, led by the villain Malekith. We do not know yet how it will turn out in the movie, but Marcel Comics usually portrays him as a smart, fast super villain with many tricks. I think this movie will be a blast!

Mother’s Day will be here before you can say, “Hi, Mom.” Are you ready for it? You can bet your Mom is anticipating it already with barely subdued excitement. So what will you be giving her this year? A flower arrangement? A pretty, fragrant gift, yes. But after a few days, their loveliness will fade, and they will be tossed into the trash. What about giving your Mom her favorite candy? It would be yummy for the tummy, all right, but then it would be on Mom’s hips for a lifetime. Not a very nice picture in your mind, is it?
With the selection of tees that we have on our site, you are certain to find one that will make Mom smile, if not laugh out loud, and without the added calories. Whatever reaction you would like to evoke from your dear Mother, just browse our “Family Shirts” page and see the variety of treats available here for Mom on her special day.
If she would like flowers, we have a lovely “Special Mother” tee that’s guaranteed to last a lot longer than a whole flower bed. If she’s got a good sense of humor, our “Mother is Right” tee might be the right shirt for her. (You do know she’s always right, don’t you?) Also, there’s an adorable “Mother’s Love” tee with kittens on it, if she’s into the cute, fluffy little darlings. And for the Mom who’s an angel, we have a (wait for it) “Mothers are Angels” tee.
Whether you pick a funny tee or a serious one for your Mom or Grandma, if you have put enough thought into it, your gift on Mother’s Day is certain to be met with sincere “ooohs: and “ahhhs.” And it just might come with a bushel of pecks for you!
Have you ever wondered how all these things are related to each other? As we loaded up our St Patrick Day T-Shirts, I did a little research, and here it goes: St Patrick had an interesting early life. He was born as British-Roman and was kidnapped by Irish at age sixteen. After escaping he became a priest and went back to Ireland to advance Christianity to Irish, who were polytheist back then. Now the tricky part, he used a Shamrock to explain the Trinity concept. I do not think he related beer and shamrock in his teachings, but fortunately for beer lovers, a shamrock represents the Irish taste today for dark or light beer, warm-blooded Irish women, and a jolly good time at the nearest pub. Green is known to first have shown in the uniforms of the soldiers in the 1798 rebellion on March 17th. Since then this day is known and celebrated by the Irish as the St. Patrick day. It is a national Holiday in Ireland and that starts explaining the beer. Now, how about that Leprechaun? Well, I learned that these fairy tale characters were already in Irish folk tales but the combination of Leprechaun and beer provide a nice opportunity to explain what happens when you take in more beer than enough! At teesnthings.com, we love the St. Patrick day, Irish, and Beer themed t-shirts. if you are getting ready to hit the nearest pub with your best Irish or Irish-loving friends, we have the t-shirts for you. Watching UFC on Fox tonight, I realized that although some may find it violent, the sport has many fans who find it entertaining. It is clear that it takes hard work, preparation, skills, and above all guts to get into a ring with one of these guys. There is almost no rules in how they fight and they can get hurt seriously at any point. However, these guys still go there fight to almost kill each other but then leave the ring with a handshake with the opponent. Our collection of MMA and UFC t-shirts and cutouts seem to be the most popular. You can find memorabilia related to fighters like Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre in our UFC section of our store. Here are a couple of our most popular UFC t-shirts.
The concept of the zombie was first introduced in the 1929 book, The Magic Island. In 1932, the movie White Zombie used the same voodoo zombie themes and became known as the first legitimate zombie film. Other movies based on zombie-themed books include I Walked With a Zombie and The Serpent and the Rainbow.
A more modern zombie concept, different from the one inspired by the Haitian religion unlike the first, emerged in popular culture in recent decades primarily inspired by the book, I am Legend. The movie The Night of the Living Dead is the first of its kind featuring this new kind of zombie and it lends a highly popular theme to our horror movie t-shirts. The monsters in the film and its sequels, such as Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead and Zombi 2, are usually hungry for human flesh although Return of the Living Dead introduced the popular concept of zombies eating brains. There is usally no explanation to what makes these dead bodies reanimate. They usually come out looking for human flesh or brains. Although this modern version resemble the original concept based on the Haitian tradition, many consider George Romero to be the progenitor of the concept. Zombie fiction is now a a cornerstone of the horror genre.
